Challenge
A report published by the Climate Observatory points out that the truck fleet was the main emitter of climate pollutants in the energy sector in Brazil in 2016 . Annually, the transport sector releases around 84.5 million tons of greenhouse gases into the air. It has already been proven that the way a vehicle is driven can reduce pollutant emissions by up to 20%. Our challenge was to give drivers conditions to monitor how much they contribute to this situation with the intention of making them aware of the role they have in this context.
Solution
As an action arm of Despolluir – SEST SENAT, the application complements other actions of the organization in the direction of building a transport system that causes less and less damage to the environment. Thus, it provides drivers with a clear view of how much pollutants they are releasing as well as how much fuel they are consuming. The application's features were already defined and my role was to design the interface to provide an easy and pleasant user experience.
